Anil Ambani's Reliance Makes India Soar with Falcon Jet Production

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group is taking its defense ambitions to new heights with its Nagpur facility. Beyond the well-known Rafale fighter jets, they’re now venturing into the lucrative world of business jets with the iconic Falcon brand.

Falcon Ascends in India:

Think billionaires and luxury travel — think Falcon jets. These business jets are renowned for their comfort and range, and Reliance, in partnership with French giants Dassault Aviation, is now poised to manufacture them in India. Their state-of-the-art Nagpur facility, operational since 2018, already produces components for Rafale jets and Falcon 2000s.

Taking Flight in 2025:

The exciting news is that by early 2025, the first fully-fledged Falcon 2000 LXS jet will roll out of the Nagpur unit. This marks a significant milestone for India, propelling it into the elite group of business jet manufacturers.

Investing in the Future:

Both Reliance and Dassault are heavily invested in expanding the Nagpur facility. Two new hangars are under construction, aiming for an initial production capacity of 18 jets per year, with the potential to scale up to 22. The first deliveries will cater to the French Defence Ministry’s order of 9 aircraft.

Wider Wings for India:

This venture has far-reaching implications. It will create jobs, boost technology transfer, and reduce dependence on imports. Furthermore, Falcon jets are popular among Indian charter operators due to their spacious cabins and long range, making them ideal for connecting remote destinations.

Beyond Falcon:

Reliance’s defense ambitions extend beyond just jets. Under its flagship Reliance Infrastructure Limited, they are also involved in power distribution through BSES, toll road construction, and various engineering projects.

This foray into business jet production showcases Anil Ambani’s growing influence in the defense sector and signifies India’s aspirations to become a global aerospace player. With Falcon taking flight in Nagpur, the sky’s the limit for Indian innovation and ambition.
